there are fictional characters you like
there are some you love
and then there are some that you literally spend hours and hours thinking about all of the things that happened to them or could happen to them and their motivations and the futures they had stolen from them and what it does to them every single day and you scour the minutiae of their characterization because you want to know them like you know yourself
and maybe it’s because they’re what you have the potential to be or they’ve gone through something like you have or you have nothing in common but it doesn’t matter because you love them so much you feel like you’re drowning in it because they’re fictionaland you can’t help them no matter how much you want
yeah, then there’s them.
AU where Dean and Sam are private detectives and Cas hires them to look for his father against his brother Gabriel’s advice and it turns out that their dad is on the run from the fallen angels gang which is headed up by their estranged brother lucifer. Through a series of mishaps Dean and Sam fall into the seedy underworld while trying to protect their clients and ignore whatever feelings they’ve developed for the rich brothers who’ve hired them.
Wait is there a baseball AU where the angels are The Angels like Cas is the stoic pitcher, Balthazar is the witty shortstop, lucifer is second, Michael is first (and they fight all the time because Luci wanted to be first base), Uriel is third and Gabriel is the mouthy catcher. And then Samandriel comes in as a rookie outfielder
And, Dean and Sam are either like superfans or they’re on the opposing team (Dean’s a first baseman and Sam’s second (for reasons)) and Bobby is the manager and he’s trying to swipe Cas but Cas won’t come unless Gabe and Balth do too so Bobby grumbles about it, but the Angels are good and his team sucks so yeah maybe he could use them.
And Dean and Cas start off grudgingly accepting each other, but Cas is like this by the book guy and Dean doesn’t give a fuck and they have to share a room on the road (and much to Sam’s initial dismay he has to share with Gabriel who like has this weird thing for him (we all know Sabriel lies this way)) and Dean gets Cas drunk and they bang (and fall in love)
This should exist.
hi hey hello like even though sam is legit dean’s brother, if you don’t think for a second dean said ‘let it go, brother’ because of prolonged exposure to a certain vampirate i am going to have to strongly disagree
okay so just let me feels:
how many people does dean trust to take care of sammy. how many? he can count them on one hand. hell, he can count them on on two fingers: bobby and cas.
but he trusts benny. he calls benny to save sam, not just because benny can get into purgatory but because he trusts benny with sam’s life. there is literally nothing bigger to dean than trusting his brother’s life to someone. nothing.
and benny knew, he obviously knew he wasn’t going to be coming back. he accepted it and doesn’t that just sound like someone we know? benny and dean and cas, all willing to lay down and die—willing to risk everything just because they don’t deserve anything else. How much do you want to bet that dean knew, deep down, that benny wasn’t coming back. it was a suicide mission and benny went with a smile on his face.
i hate this show
When Sam settles down and has kids Dean is gonna be like the best uncle ever. Like, he’s gonna spoil the shit out of them but when something serious happens, he’s gonna sit them down and lay it down clear.
Like Sam’s daughter runs away to uncle Dean’s bc Sam told her she was grounded for missing curfew and Dean texts Sam to tell him where she is and sits with her at the kitchen table and lets her tell him what happened and she thinks he’s gonna let her stay with him and agree that Sam is wrong.
But he just loads her into the Impala and drives her back over and tells her that Sam is her father, that there are curfews for a reason, and she’s damn crazy if she thinks he doesn’t agree with his brother on this one. And she cries and gets all pissed off because he was supposed to be cool about it so half the car ride is awkward silence.
But right before she gets out of the car he grabs her arm and says “I love you, kid.” And she throws herself across the seat to hug him and he hugs her back and then pushes her out of the car where Sam is waiting on the porch, arms crossed over his chest and Dean just smiles at him and Sam mouths ‘thank you’
