omg this is everything i never knew i wanted.
I remember being absolutely obsessed with that website. It was a forum type thing where you would go and mingle with other Harry Potter obsessed tweens (from what I’ve heard of Pottermore, it was actually kind of similar). You would get sorted and then have special access to the separate common rooms (I was a Gryffindor). You could also make shops in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade.
AND THERE WAS A YULE BALL! Please someone tell me they remember this. You would get little Avatars that were all dressed up in ball-gowns and tuxes and you could bring a date. Ugh, 12 year old me fucking loved that website.
I actually still use my password from that site as my password for EVERYTHING.

Recasting Harry Potter at the moment because we’re disappointed in the way it turned out. Because even though I love Gary Oldman and David Thewlis, Sirius and Lupin are not nearly hot enough.

Nothing like watching LoTR with a first timer who also happens to love Harry Potter (not that I don’t love Harry Potter because I freaking do).
I just love the “oh, that’s like in Harry Potter”, “they look like dementors”, “Is that Dumbledore?”
I even had to explain how Sauron was still alive by describing The One Ring as a Horcrux.
I love my roommate to pieces, but I struggled to not strangle him while we were watching.
